The fattening challenge

What the ration has to solve

Intensive lamb fattening is often done with feed made on the farm itself, based on cereal. To complete it, a product is needed that supplies, in a single addition, vitamins, trace elements, calcium, salt, buffer and part of the nitrogen, and that is formulated for sheep, without the copper of cattle mineral supplements.

01
On-farm feed

Cereal-based, and it needs to be completed.

02
A single addition

Vitamins, trace elements, calcium, salt, buffer and nitrogen.

03
Copper sensitivity

Formulated for sheep, without the copper of cattle supplements.

What it brings to your farm

Five reasons to add it to the feed

Formulated for sheep

no added copper, to respect the lamb's sensitivity to copper.

Complete coverage in a single product

vitamins, trace elements, calcium, magnesium, salt and buffer for the fattening feed.

Non-protein nitrogen

urea supplies nitrogen for microbial protein in the rumen; at 40 kg/t, about 4.8 kg of urea per tonne of feed.

Buffering effect

sodium bicarbonate adds buffering capacity to cereal-rich rations.

Easy to dose

4 % inclusion, suitable for on-farm mixers.

How it works

A formula designed for the feed mill

A complete mineral supplement diluted to 4 % that adds salt, buffer and part of the nitrogen, reformulated for sheep without copper.

STEP 1

Vitamins and trace elements

No added copper, for sheep.

STEP 2

Salt, calcium and buffer

What the cereal does not provide, in the same product.

STEP 3

Feed-grade urea

Part of the nitrogen in the ration.

Species and production stages

Feed mill

Use: exclusively in the manufacture of animal feed, at the feed mill or on farms that make their own feed.
Directions for use

Added to the feed during manufacture

Orally, via the feed. For use exclusively in the manufacture of animal feed. Label dose:

1
Dose
40 kg per tonne of feed
2
Urea
Only with a functional rumen
Urea should only be given to animals with a functional rumen. It shall be introduced gradually until the maximum dose is reached. The maximum content should only be given in diets rich in easily digestible carbohydrates and low in soluble nitrogen. A maximum of 30 % of the total nitrogen in the daily ration may come from urea.
Field example

each tonne of feed takes two 20 kg bags; a 5-tonne batch, 200 kg (ten bags).

Feed millPractical points
Introduce the urea-containing feed gradually after weaning.
Do not use cattle mineral supplements in lambs, because of the copper.
Handle it with a dust mask, gloves and safety goggles.
