Lactolevure

A strong start for piglets, calves, lambs and kids, from the first feed

Where the profitability of the batch is decided

A piglet, lamb or calf that is born light, does not take colostrum well or faces the stress of transport, heat or weaning early on takes longer to get going, grows less and is harder to rear.

And the move from milk to solid feed is another critical moment: the sooner it starts eating, the less it loses at weaning.

01
Low birth weight

Weak animals that need energy and protein from day one.

02
Stress

Heat, transport or arrival at the fattening unit in the middle of the suckling phase.

03
Move to solid feed

The sooner it starts eating, the less weight it loses at weaning.

What it brings to your farm

Five reasons to put it in the dish

A start for weak animals

Supports the viability of low-birth-weight piglets, lambs, kids and calves, with energy and protein from day one.

Vigour and weight during suckling

Supports growth during the suckling period and helps reduce losses at this stage.

Introduction to solid feed

Encourages early intake of foods other than maternal milk and pre-starter feed, which is key for weaning.

Weaning with less stress

Shortens the period of negative energy balance at weaning and reduces weight loss.

Microbiota and stress

Supports the balance of the digestive microbiota in stressful situations such as heat, transport or arrival at the fattening unit.

How it works

What the yeast produces, ready from the first feed

It is the postbiotic of the range: it does not provide live yeasts, but what they produce during fermentation, together with energy and electrolytes in a gel that the animal takes on its own.

STEP 1

Yeast metabolites

The postbiotic part: inactivated yeasts and their metabolites, which support the balance of the suckling animal's digestive microbiota.

STEP 2

Lactose, sugars and electrolytes

They provide energy and help keep the animal hydrated.

STEP 3

Isotonic gel in a dish

Its texture and taste get the animal used to eating away from its mother and prepare the move to starter feed.

Field example

A litter of 12 piglets, at 750 ml per piglet during their first 14 days, uses about 9 litres of Lactolevure, just under two 5 kg containers. A batch of 40 calves arriving at the fattening unit, at 100 ml per calf per day for 7 days, needs 28 litres, about 29 kg of product.

Newborn lambs and kidsPractical points
Offer it in a clean dish and renew it daily.
From 15 days of age, add small amounts of pre-starter feed to the dish to introduce the animal to solid food.
Keep the container tightly closed between uses and, because of its short shelf life, order and rotate the product according to expected use.
